The Self Improvement Mandate - Act One
The Self Improvement Mandate - Act One
I am going to give away the crown jewels and more with this series of posts I am calling The Self Improvement Mandate. If you read and adopt what I tell you in this mini series then you will make leaps and bounds in your quest for self improvement. There is of course always the alternative option of larding it in front of the box with your potato chips………. but don’t complain to me that your life is crap and you can’t succeed at anything ok?
Stop Dwelling In The Past
Life is about cause and effect. A lot of people believe in fate, I am not prepared to chance my life to this and nor should you. You need to use your past as a reference point and be big and bold to adopt the Self Improvement Mandate. What do I mean? Well you need to crush all your irrational fears and stop mithering about past failures and bitching and moaning about everone and everything. Reflect on your past by all means and learn from it but in no way let it hinder your future.
Change Your Yesterday Belief
The Self improvement Mandate is about changing your core beliefs and it starts with what I call the “yesterday belief”. Those that hold the yesterday belief cry that they have tried something in the past and it didn’t work for them. They didn’t become millionaires overnight or some other bullshit so they will never be millionaires. Duh
So what’s the best way to rid yourself of the yesterday belief. Well the first rule of the Self Improvement Mandate is “Never Believe That Whatever you Did Before Will Influence Your Future”. Now to put this into action, you need to use a positive thought about this if a negative one occurs. OK an example. Many people have dabbled in making money online. Most have failed. Why is this? Is it because they are dumbasses? Probably not. Is it because they are lazy? Well certainly not at first. The statistics for failed online businesses and offline businesses are very similar ( the number of failed online busiesses is higher because you can start one for small change).
Don’t Repeat The Pattern
OK what about the number of people who make New Year resolutions - how many of them follow through? Or people on fitness drives or weight loss crusades? Well the answer is in all cases only a small percentage.
How many people do you think repeat these cycles - how many times have you gone on a lose weight plan? Now all of this is interesting because now more than at any time in the past we have more information and technologically advanced products at our disposal to achieve just about anything. Nobody knows the reason behind each persons failure but the common thing is that they all “gave up”. Yep, they threw in the proverbial towel because it didn’t happen as the book said or something else “got in the way”.
One thing that I am certain of is that people’s past experiences with trying something will have a major bearing on whether they will succeed in the future. Now you can turn this to your advantage or let it make you quit like the majority do.
Use Your Past Flashbacks To Your Advantage
We all have flashbacks from the past. If you are commited to learning the Self Improvement Mandate then use these past flashbacks as tools to drive your self improvement in the future. If you receive a thought in your head like “you put all the weight back on and then some last time” then immediately think to yourself “yes why was that and how can I make sure I don’t repeat this process?” This will get your subconscious searching for answers and will come up with why you piled it all back on last time. You can then act on this information to prevent it happening this time.
If you want rapid self improvement then the Self Improvement Mandate will take you there. It is ok to make mistakes but the mandate teaches that you learn everything you can from the mistake to ensure you won’t tread that path again in the future. This is key and why I have started with this subject first.
Just Apply This To See Rapid Change
Does this work? You bet your rectum it does. I learnt this the hard way many years ago. Now I have such a strong belief that I can do anything, and that my past will not affect my success. This all stems from using this method.
In Your Self Miracle I go into this in even more detail and give you even more ways to avoid this self improvement roadblock.
Before we wrap up day one of the Self Improvement Mandate I want to leave you with this thought - if everyone let the past dictate their future then how many great things wouldn’t we have today? Well here are a few:
